Baby Sensory - Precious Early Learning for Babies

cont...

After a few weeks Helen and Sharon asked Lin Day, the founder of Baby Sensory, whether she had considered making the idea available to others. Baby Sensory is far more than a baby play group as it supports parents with the learning and development of their babies from an early age. It draws on current research, the work of theorists, early years experts, and over 30 years of personal experience.

Lin Day (Dip. Ed. BSc. PGCE. M. Phil) takes up the story “Baby Sensory provides hundreds of simple activities that are fun for babies from birth to 13 months. Our classes include baby activities ranging from signing to fibre optic light shows, amazing light balls, bubbles and bells; there is always something different.” Lin has packaged this into 40 unique lesson plans that allow others to run the weekly sessions.

The Baby Sensory franchises have proved to be an instant success. Lucy Thomson who started her Baby Sensory business in Kent in October 2006 now has over 150 babies registered and Helen and Sharon are running classes in Basingstoke (Chineham, Buckskin) and Odiham. New classes are opening in Bath and Wirral in April and Lin is receiving approaches from all over the UK. In March Baby Sensory reached agreement with a British ex pat to establish Baby Sensory in Canada.
Closer to home more classes will be opening in the Southampton area this July. Helen Dicks who already runs the successful Bumps Babies & Co. baby massage business will be running Baby Sensory classes in Chandlers Ford and the Meon Valley. “I see Baby Sensory as a natural extension to my massage classes and I am really looking forward to introducing the babies to all the Baby Sensory experiences” comments Helen.”

Careers with Baby Sensory
Looking for a career in childcare?

Think you have what it takes to run your own business working with parents and their new born babies?

If so, Baby Sensory offers the child care career you are looking for.

Introduction

A Baby Sensory franchise offers the opportunity to build your own successful business, working hours to fit your personal circumstances. Franchisees will be able to share with parents the joy and sense of awe that arises from seeing a baby learn. They will also establish strong relationships with the adults and babies in the class.

Why choose a child development franchise?
Parents are taking an ever increasing interest in the early development of their babies and recognise the benefit to their baby of early years communication. Increases to paid maternity means that parents will be able to spend more time with their child during the first year of life.

The constant demand for baby classes, coupled with the Sure Start 'Birth to Three' framework, indicates huge potential for growth and opportunity in this market.

For working parents, childcare can be a problem. Running your own business gives you the flexibility to choose hours to suit your personal circumstances,

What makes Baby Sensory unique?
Unlike many similar services, the Baby Sensory experience is suitable for babies from birth, allowing early bonding for parents and their new babies. Baby Sensory franchisees will therefore already have established strong relationships with parents and babies before they even consider attending other programmes. Our classes cater for groups of 0 - 6 months and 7 to 13 months.

Our classes offer a complete range of developmental activities including:

  • fibre optic light shows
  • music
  • signing
  • baby whispering etc.

and therefore we have found that parents feel no need to explore alternative programmes once they have discovered Baby Sensory.

Baby Sensory classes always include parent & baby activities and exploratory play. This means that parents get to spend time with their baby and to make new friends. This early opportunity to meet with other new parents means that Health Care Professionals often suggest that parents attend one of our classes.

To reduce the initial investment for our franchisees Baby Sensory operates a franchise rental scheme. To maintain the high quality of our service Baby Sensory continuously invests in the development of new stimulating activities. New session plans are produced for each 10 week term.

Our leadership team includes child development specialists and experienced business professionals who will provide initial and ongoing training and support.

Qualities of a franchisee
The biggest single factor that will determine the quality of the product is the franchisee. With this in mind we operate a comprehensive training and development programme for franchisees. The qualities we seek in our franchisees are:

  • Confidence;
  • Enthusiasm and passion;
  • Good interpersonal skills;
  • Strong motivation and drive.

If you have these qualities we will help you to develop the specific knowledge and skills to run a successful Baby Sensory franchise.

This opportunity may well appeal to infant and toddler caregivers who are already working with babies and young children and are looking for a new and exciting opportunity in newborn infant care.
